Notification on the implementation of the National Alert Management System (NAMS)
The National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Romania (NAMMDR) hereby informs on the on the implementation of the National Alert Management System (NAMS), a new component of the National Medicines Verification System (NMVS), now available to all end-users in Romania – pharmacies, wholesalers and hospitals.
The NAMS platform aims at a more efficient and transparent management of alerts within the NMVS and facilitating communication between end-users, the Romanian Medicines Serialisation Organisation (OSMR) and the NAMMDR.
This new system introduces a more efficient, transparent and structured way of managing alerts:
• Viewing the alerts in real time;
• Adding comments, supporting documents, or photos directly in the system;
• Applying the correct resolution for each alert;
• Viewing all alerts, including history and status update.
The architecture of the NAMS represents a significant improvement compared to the current workflow, which relies mostly on weekly reports. Through the NAMS, alerts can be managed on a daily basis, enabling faster resolution and a better overview of the entire process, through:
• Increased operational efficiency;
• Better collaboration between stakeholders;
• A gradual reduction in the number of alerts;
• Enhanced patient safety.
End-users can connect to the NAMS via the internal application, using the same credentials and the same digital certificate as for the NMVS.
More information on using the National Alert Management System (NAMS) can be found in the User Guide and the two video tutorials posted on the OSMR website.
